Basic mechanics


Some may find it difficult to adapt to a paleo diet or have concerns on if it works for them or not.  One of the great things that all ingredients included in paleo recipes are usually easily found at any supermarket.  Before considering getting into this diet it is important to understand the “mechanics” of the diet.  A few things to keep in mind are:

1.      You won’t be eating any bread or rice as well as say goodbye to dairy products.
2.     It usually requires you to prepare the food yourself, since there are no preservatives allowed in this diet there are no short cuts allowed when preparing salsas and sauces.
3.     You don’t need to worry about your calorie intake, if you follow the recipes your calories are already being counted for you.
4.     You should keep an eye on how much you eat, it’s a diet but portions are important.
5.     Make sure to stick to the foods listed on the recipes, the diet works but only if you stick to it.
6.     It follows the basic principle that your intake of protein outweighs your intake of carbohydrates.
